We’re a family-owned and run business established in 1992 by current managing director Jim Ferguson. We work with our clients to provide a trusted, professional service and a trouble-free work environment.
As a family business, it’s important to us that we operate with integrity at all times, and that includes treating our employees with respect. We recognise the importance of employee training and provide an open and inclusive working environment.
We employ a high calibre of people to make sure we provide clients with the best possible service, and we provide regular feedback, monitoring and training. We have consultants to assist in specific areas and have a team who specialise in Employment Law and Health and Safety. Many of our employees have backgrounds in the police force and the military.
Our low staff turnover is a testament to how well we look after our staff and this gives clients the reassurance of a happy and committed workforce. We have a workforce who are fully trained and who are fully accredited. Our staff are committed to diligent health and safety practices at all times and our company has an accident free history with no major incidents.

- Donations to local charities, including those in aid of Children and the Elderly
- Donations to local churches
- Partnering with other local and national firms, such as SSE, to make donations to good causes
Our managing director, Jim Ferguson, is the Highlands & Islands regional chair of Crimestoppers and is also the National Scottish Deputy Chair and sits on the Crimestoppers board in Glasgow. Jim Ferguson is also chair of the Inverness Community Safety Partnership and previously chaired the Inverness Crime Prevention Panel for over 8 years after being involved for a total of 15 years.
The Castle Group also donate to many local charities and sponsor local youth teams and other causes, for example, the Highland Wildcats.

Our History Timeline
1992: The Castle Group was set up in Inverness by current managing director Jim Ferguson and a business partner.
1994: Jim bought out his business partner and took full control of the business.
2003-4: The Castle Group acquired Highland Security Services and Grampian Security Dogs (GSD).
2010: A client-focused restructure led to five individual companies being formed under The Castle Group – Castle Security Group Northern, Castle Training Group Northern, CDS Scotland, Castle Group Facilities Management and C4S.
